Cookies & statistics

A straightforward website.

We use simple website totals to improve these pages. Optional advertising cookies stay off unless you accept them.

Optional website statistics

We count page views and clicks on service, quote, telephone, email and WhatsApp links. We keep daily totals by page and kind of link. We also keep grouped daily pricing and conversion counts: estimates with the same fixed service and property choices and price breakdown are counted together, alongside submission and email-sending outcomes. The long-term groups exclude customer contact details, addresses, postcodes, free-text notes, individual estimate references, form-verification values and exact submission times. These are event counts, not counts of unique people, and a link click does not prove that a call, email or message took place.

These statistics do not use visitor identifiers, analytics cookies, fingerprinting or a stored history of individual browsing. We do not collect customer contact fields, free-text form entries, search queries or referring URLs for these statistics, and we do not send them to an advertising-analytics service.

Statistics are on by default. Use the website-statistics control at the bottom of this page to turn page/link totals and long-term grouped pricing/conversion statistics off or on, free of charge. If you have not made an explicit choice here, we also respect a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal from your browser.

Remembering your choice

The jp-gutter-statistics browser-storage preference remembers whether you have chosen statistics on or off in this browser; it does not contain contact or property details or identify you across websites. You can change the preference using the control below or remove it through your browser settings. If browser storage is unavailable, the control still changes the choice for the open page.

Optional advertising measurement

Separately, if you accept optional cookies, we use Google Ads to understand which advertising leads to an enquiry accepted for sending to our business. The Google advertising tag does not load or send measurements before you accept. Rejecting these cookies does not stop you using the quote builder or sending an enquiry, and the separate website-statistics control does not grant advertising consent.

After acceptance, Google may use advertising cookies such as _gcl_* and _gac_*, and browser storage such as _gcl_ls, to attribute a successful enquiry to an advert. Google receives technical information such as your IP address and browser information, page and advertising-click information, and an opaque reference used to avoid counting the same enquiry twice. We do not send your name, email address, telephone number, property address, free-text notes or estimate price as conversion data. This setup does not use enhanced conversions or remarketing.

The separate gutter-ads-consent-v1 preference remembers your accept or reject choice for up to 180 days. Use “Cookie settings” at the bottom of any page to change it. Withdrawing after accepting reloads the page to stop the advertising tag, so send or copy any unfinished enquiry first. If the browser cannot save your choice, optional advertising measurement stays off for the open page. Google’s privacy policy explains its processing and retention; its cookie information describes the technologies it uses.

Estimates and enquiries

Turning optional statistics off does not stop us processing an estimate or enquiry you request. The quote builder keeps unfinished choices and contact fields in the open page, without saving those details in browser cookies or local storage. A requested estimate may be kept temporarily to check the price and choices on the open form. It becomes due for deletion after two hours, with cleanup on later requests, whether statistics are on or off. When statistics are on, fixed choices and prices contribute to grouped daily pricing and conversion counts. Turning statistics off stops new contributions and removes those associated with a still-open estimate when the website receives the choice; it does not identify contributions in older groups after the temporary record expires. The website processes submitted contact details, addresses and free-text notes to send your email; it does not keep a full enquiry copy in its database. These records and email-provider copies are explained in the privacy notice. The website does not create a customer account.

Hosting and security

Fonts and photographs are served as part of the website. We do not add embedded maps or social-media tracking widgets. The hosting or access service may use essential session or security technologies to deliver and protect the site, including access controls on a private review version. Basic spam checks run on the server.

Following an external link or opening your email app takes you to another provider, whose cookie and privacy information applies there.
